Student assistant (40-80 hours per month)

We are seeking support for our ongoing research activities in big data and data science systems:

• Support in the development and evaluation of research prototypes, performance measurement, and vulnerability analysis of systems for analyzing large datasets and data streams to identify research questions (70%)
• Support in the identification and analysis of new linear and relational algebra algorithms for the scalable processing of data science pipelines (10%)
• Literature review (10%)
• Support in the editing of scientific texts (10%)

Mandatory criteria:

• Very good knowledge and experience in database systems
• Good knowledge and experience with SQL
• Very good programming skills in Python, Java, or C/C++
• Good in written and spoken English

Optional criteria:

• Good in written and spoken German
