part-time employment may be possible
Your responsibility
The Process Dynamics and Operations Group is seeking a new member / postdoctoral researcher to undertake long-term responsibilities in research and teaching, as well as to lead a research group focused on process intensification closely connected to methods of modeling and optimizing chemical engineering processes - particularly novel process concepts- and to organize the operation of the pilot-plant with a focus on process automation.
Specific responsibilities include:
(1) Independently conduct and further develop lectures on process modeling, process operations and process and plant dynamics, as well as organizing laboratory courses
(2) Supervising undergraduate theses and actively advising and supervising doctoral candidates
(3) Preparing grant proposals and independently securing research projects (including industry collaborations)
(4) Organizing pilot-plant operations, as well as the development and enhancement of industrial process control technology for test benches and internal and external pilot plants

- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, as well as a completed Ph.D. in Chemical Process Engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience in developing and conducting lecture courses in dynamic equation - based process modeling and process control; development and implementation of laboratory curses, as well as supervision of theses, are mandatory
- Comprehensive and broad experience in designing, planning, and conducting experiments from the laboratory - to pilot-plant scale (enhanced safety regulations, risk assessments, ATEX) is required
- Extensive experience in the setup and programming of industrial process control systems (Siemens PCS 7) as well as the integration of model-based methods for process optimization via interfaces (OPC) is mandatory
- In-depth experience in designing research proposals and securing third-party funding, explicitly including collaborations with industrial partners is mandatory
