About us
The DEEM Lab (https://deem.berlin) conducts research at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning. Our goal is to develop efficient data systems for AI and machine learning applications that are easy to use while simultaneously guaranteeing the fundamental rights of users (such as the "right to be forgotten").
Your responsibility
We are looking for someone to support our group with building web and mobile applications for demonstrating our research prototypes, with a special focus on AI-driven chat-, voice- and video-based interfaces. The applications will evolve around various use cases, such as cleaning, integrating and validating multimodal data for healthcare scenarios, or steering agentic systems to assist domain experts in highly regulated environments such as hiring or credit scoring. The demonstrations will be part of presentations for national and international visitors and scientific guests, as well as in local events such as the “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften”.
- Support for application development (60%)
- Support for design and optimization of user interfaces and user experience (30%)
- Support for testing and deployment (10%)
Your profile
Required criteria:
- Strong knowledge of machine learning and AI
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with the libraries PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas or langchain / DSPy
- Experience with developing LLM-based applications, with chat-, voice-, or video-based interfaces
- Experience with graphic design and the Python-based web stack
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
