Research Assistant

• Collaboration in a research project focusing on Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT)
• Analysis of existing procedures and protocols; development and evaluation of new concepts and data structures
• Supervision of student employees and student theses within the research project
• Opportunity to pursue a doctorate is available

• Successfully completed academic studies (Master's degree, diploma or equivalent) in computer science, business informatics, computer engineering or a comparable subject

Practical knowledge of the following concepts

• Authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.)

• SSI and DLT

• Privacy-preserving techniques - Zero-Knowledge Proofs (zk-SNARK, zk-STARK, Bulletproof, etc.)

• Very good understanding of fundamental programming concepts, ability to communicate complex issues in a didactically meaningful way

• Committed and independent behaviour, analytical and strategic thinking, flexibility and creativity. Organisational and communication skills. Reliability and ability to work in a team desirable

• Bring a good mix of design thinking combined with empirical analysis for privacy-preserving solutions in authentication systems

• Analyze present state-of-the-art for digital credential lifecycle management and design architecture for privacy-preserving systems.

• Supervision skills for student workers

• Good language skills in German and/or English are required; willingness to acquire all missing language skills

• Development experience with privacy-preserving tools such as Zokrates, libsnark, etc. desirable

• Articulate business needs with industry partner and realise technical and functional requirements desirable

• Experience with projects resulting from industrial partnerships desirable

• Professional communication skill with industry partners desirable
