Student assistant (40 hours per month)

Your responsibility

As part of the Science of Intelligence Cluster of Excellence, we are conducting research in the “Mouse Lock Box 2.0” project as part of an interdisciplinary team to study the intelligent behavior of mice as they solve mechanical puzzles (so-called “lock boxes”). For a better understanding of their actions, advanced computer vision methods are employed. For more information visit:

We are looking for motivated student assistants to help us in our research work.

  • Support for processing of large amounts of picture and video data (25%)
  • Support with implementation of computer vision and deep learning algorythms using the Python programming language (40%)
  • Support for annotation of image data (35%)

Your profile

Must:

  • Good programming skills with Python (object oriented programming)
  • Basic knowledge of digital image processing using programming
    Good knowledge of Deep Learning
  • Good written and spoken command of English

Can:

  • Basic knowledge of the python packages Tensorflow and panda
  • Experience of training CNN models
  • Good command of the version control system git
  • Experience in processing of image data
  • Experience in processing large data sets
  • Basic knowledge of keypoint detection in computer vision
  • Basic knowledge of using Linux
  • Experience with programming projects in a team
  • Ability to work in a team
