Your responsibility
Participation in the collaborative research project "VCSEL Arrays for Scalable Supercomputer, Signaling and Sensing Technologies". The project aims to develop individually addressable VCSEL arrays for applications in neuromorphic optical information processing, optical tweezers for quantum computing, 6G communication, and advanced sensing. It addresses key challenges in device fabrication, scalability, integration, and control to enable innovative applications of this technology.
Your profile
- successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a related discipline
- solid knowledge in the field of semiconductor physics, nanophotonics, quantum optics, or a related area
- interest in the development, fabrication, and optical or quantum-optical characterization of micro- and nanolasers or related photonic devices and a strong interest in innovative research topics in quantum nanophotonics, quantum technology, and nanotechnology, scientific creativity, and the willingness to independently learn new experimental and theoretical methods are desirable
- excellent academic performance as well as initial experience in scientific work, for example within a master’s thesis or through relevant research internships, are expected.
- good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
- initial practical experience with experimental methods in semiconductor physics, nanophotonics, or quantum optics, as well as knowledge of data analysis and scientific programming, is desirable
- ability to work in a team, initiative, and willingness to collaborate closely in interdisciplinary research projects are desirable
- the motivation to present scientific results at international conferences and publish them in peer-reviewed journals, is desirable
