Student assistant (40 hours per month)

Support of the Department of Engineering Acoustics on research in the project about the psychoacoustic assessment of road traffic noise:

• Assisting in the planning and implementation of experiments to investigate auditory perception of road traffic noise (40%)
• Assisting in the creation of suitable synthetic acoustic stimuli and the recording of road traffic noise for listening experiments (40%)
• Assisting in the execution of listening experiments and data analysis (20%)

Required:

• Good knowledge of technical acoustics, sigital signal processing and equipment
• Basic knowledge of psychoacoustics
• Good knowledge of Python or MATLAB programming language
• Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either Englisch or German is expected

Advantageous:

• Good knowledge of virtual acoustics, especially auralization
• Good knowledge of experimental and statistical methods
• Experience in implementation of experiments with humans
