Student assistant (80 hours per month)

We – the Robotics and Biology Lab – are always looking for enthusiastic students that will help us to improve the capabilities of our robot platforms. We offer a flexible, collaborative work environment and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a wide range of robot-related topics.

• Support with construction of soft robotic hands (34%)
• Support with conducting robotics experiments (33%)
• Assisting with the building and testing of mechanical and electronic prototypes (33%)

Mandatory criteria:

• Enrollment at a German university
• Advanced programming skills in Python or C++
• Basic knowledge of robotics (kinematics, dynamics, planning, and probabilistic methods)
• Very good English skills, both written and spoken

Optional criteria:
Practical experience in one of the following areas:

• Precision mechanical work
• Circuit design
• Processing of real-world sensor data
• Computer vision (RGB/RGBD cameras)
• CAD programs
• 3D printing
• Machine learning
• ROS1/ROS2
