Faculty VI - Planning Building Environment, Institute of Civil Engineering / Computing in Civil Engineering
Research Assistant
part-time employment may be possible
Your responsibility
The research project PPSpace-Design is sponsored by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project contributes to the fundamental requirement of geometric and topological consistent digital building models. The opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree exists. The project investigates the mapping of the results of design functionalities of three-dimensional objects to work steps. The models describe buildings consisting of components and rooms in their surroundings. Work steps transform a valid partition of space into a valid partition using the two fundamental operations Split and Merge for edges, faces and cells. The input must be modeled and labeled semantically according to various criteria.
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in engineering, computer sciences, mathematics or related fields
- Knowledge of digital models for buildings and their surroundings
- Knowledge in Computational Geometry, predominately in partitioning the entire Euclidian space
- Knowledge in semantic modeling of buildings, their components and rooms
- Knowledge of design and modeling functionalities for components and rooms
- Knowledge of object-oriented modeling and programming (Java)
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
