2 Positions - Student assistant (60 hours per month)

We are seeking support for the research activities (not project-based) of our “Programming Languages” group:

• Support for Compiler construction with the MLIR framework (20%)
• Support for research into new methods for automating compiler construction (20%)
• Support for the development of new techniques for compiler optimisation, in particular equality saturation and machine learning methods (20%)
• Support for design and implementation of a new programming language for GPUs (40%)

Must-have criteria:

• Programming experience in a functional language (Lean or Haskell)
• Programming experience in an imperative language (Rust or C/C++)
• Good written and spoken English skills

Optional criteria:

• Experience with compiler construction
• Experience with type systems, formal methods or machine learning
• Ability to work independently
• Reliability and Creativity
