2 positions - Student assistant (40 hours per month)

We are looking for support with experimental work for our team within the new collaborative project "SMART-UP" on recombinant protein production in Escherichia coli. The project spans the development of the genetic construct through to the development and optimization of a fed-batch process.

• Assistance with molecular biology work for the construction and characterization of expression constructs (transformation, gel electrophoresis) (20%)
• Support in the preparation and execution of minituarized cultivations (30%)
• Support in the implementation and application of analytical methods (SDS-PAGE, HPLC, ELISA) (30%)
• Support in data evaluation (20%)

Required criteria:

• Good knowledge of bioprocess engineering (upstream and downstream processing)
• Good knowledge of molecular biology
• Programming experience in Python
• Good written and spoken English skills

Preferred criteria:

• Experience with microbiological work, recombinant protein expression, and HPLC
• Experience with laboratory automation
