Research Associate (PostDoc)

Your responsibility
Participation in the collaborative research project "VCSEL Arrays for Scalable Supercomputer, Signaling and Sensing Technologies". The project aims to develop individually addressable VCSEL arrays for applications in neuromorphic optical information processing, optical tweezers for quantum computing, 6G communication, and advanced sensing. It addresses key challenges in device fabrication, scalability, integration, and control to enable innovative applications of this technology.
Your profile
- Completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) and a completed PhD in Physics or a closely related field are required
- Applicants should have extensive knowledge and several years of hands-on research experience in semiconductor nanophotonics, particularly in the design, fabrication, and optical and quantum-optical characterization of micro- and nanolasers as well as related photonic devices
- Scientific independence, a strong interest in innovative research in quantum nanophotonics, quantum technologies, and nanotechnology, and the ability to conduct high-level experimental research are disirable
- Evidence of outstanding scientific achievement should be demonstrated by an excellent publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals
- Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
Experience in conducting research within externally funded projects, as well as in the supervision of undergraduate, graduate, and early-career researchers, is highly desirable. Desirable are strong teamwork skills and a willingness to collaborate closely within interdisciplinary research teams. A proven record of presenting scientific results at international conferences, will complete the candidate's profile.
