Student assistant (80 hours per month)

Your responsibility

Support in the DLR Hacking Challenge project (DLR-SATHACK), which centers on the development and execution of an innovative hacking challenge format:

  • Support in the design and implementation of final-round tasks based on real satellite hardware, including attack and defense scenarios (25%)
  • Support in the development of educational materials on space engineering and satellite operations (mission architecture, telemetry/telecommand, ADCS) (25%)
  • Support in writing of scientific publications and technical presentations (25%)
  • Support in the execution and follow-up of the qualification round (platform operation, support, evaluation) (25%)

Your profile

Mandatory criteria:

  • Enrolled at a German university
  • Knowledge of computer science, electrical engineering, or space engineering
  • Knowledge of satellite systems or ADCS
  • Knowledge of structured preparation of technical documentation (e.g., test setups, test protocols)
  • Very good written and spoken English; good written and spoken German or willingness to acquire it
  • Experience with hardware-related work (wiring, embedded systems, measurement technology)

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience with CTF competitions or IT security topics
  • Experience with telemetry/telecommand protocols or CCSDS
  • Experience in scientific writing or conference contributions
