Student assistant (40 / 60 / 80 hours per month)

The selected candidate will participate in and support the ongoing research activities of the project “REPLAY: Realistic Replay of Data Extraction Processes“, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The project aims to develop efficient replay/time travel methods for data extraction processes that enable applications such as what-if analyses and automated stress tests.

• Supporting the design, implementation and documentation of Replay-/Time Travel methods (70%)
• Support with the editorial processing of scientific texts (30%)

• Very good programming skills in C, C++ or Rust
• Basic knowledge in database systems/stream processing or data pipelines
• Experience in software engineering or open source workflows (Git, Docker, CI/CD, tests/benchmarks)
• Very good written and spoken English skills
