Research Assistant - 0.65 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

under the reserve that funds are granted

Tasks

  • performing cross-linking mass spectrometry (CL-MS) experiments
  • preparing biological samples (crosslinking, digestion, cleanup)
  • operating LC-MS/MS instrumentation
  • supporting the structural interpretation-of CL-MS data
  • collaborating closely with data analysis and structural biology teams
  • presenting and publishing research findings

There is the possibility of a doctorate.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in chemistry or related fields
  • Experience with mass spectrometry (ideally Orbitrap
  • Strong foundation in protein chemistry and chemical modification methods
  • interest in structure modeling
  • good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
  • strong interest in basic research related to marine microbiology and biochemistry is desirable
  • high motivation and exceptional qualifications for actively joining an intardisciplinary research and training environment is desired
  • ability to work independently with hands-on mentality, team spirit, helpfulness and reliability is desirable
