Tasks
Teaching courses in English (exercises, seminars, projects), as well as supervising final theses as part of the chair Methods of Geoinformation Science. Support of our research focus in the fields of semantic 3D city models, digital urban twins, applications of artificial intelligence methods (machine learning, neural networks) to 2D/3D geospatial data and 3D point clouds with the possibility of doctoral studies.
Organization of courses, semester and exam scheduling.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in geodesy/geoinformatics, computer science or a related field
- Profound knowledge of modeling 2D/3D geodata, especially 3D city models
- Fundamental understanding of algorithmic geospatial data processing, methods of machine learning and neural networks, and experience in processing 3D point clouds
- Adept use of object-oriented programming languages, preferably Python
- Sound mathematical fundamentals (linear algebra, scientific computing)
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- Experience in teaching courses in English is desirable
- Project or research experience is desirable
- Motivation, flexibility, initiative, teamwork and communication skills, interdisciplinary cooperation and interest in scientific work are expected
